All of NAMA's instructors have gone through in depth teacher training and continue to harness their skills by participating in seminars and additional music education classes. It is our entire staff's philosophy that music lessons should be challenging yet fun. From the many hours of practice comes a lifetime of rewards.
Meet the staff!

Rob Hamel loves teaching music and specializes in teaching younger children as well as adults. Rob is multi talented and teaches ukulele, guitar, bass, drums and piano. Rob also assists in administative duties at the Academy. Rob is also an assistant in the North Andover school system.

Carl Reppucci is a professional Pianist with over twenty five years of performing throughout New England. Carl strives to bring out the best in his students and is getting fantastic results. Carl is also a North Andover resident with strong family ties to the local community.

Erica teaches private lessons in Piano, Voice, Songwriting, Music Theory, and Audition Preparation to a wide range of students from ages 5 to adult. Erica has helped her students prepare for and get accepted into music colleges. She has helped students audition for and perform in New Hampshire’s Jazz All States Chorus and the Northeast District Chorus. Many of her students have gotten lead and supporting roles in school and community plays.

Thomas Collum- Violin and strings A violinist of over 20 years, Thomas Collum has served as concertmaster for the Cornell Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, International Mayfest Orchestra, and more recently, the Bruckner Festival Orchestra. He is currently a member of the first violin section of the DuBoise Orchestra in Cambridge and freelances as an orchestral violinist and recitalist in the Boston area. Thomas's friendly teaching personality is quickly becoming recognized as the finest string instrument teacher in the area

Drumming since the age of five, Lou LaCava is one of the premier drum instructors in the area. Lou holds a Bachelor's degree from Berklee College of music and has been teaching at NAMA, Acton Music and GS Music for over a decade.Lou is the finest music instructor and musical mentor we have come across in thirty five years in the education business. Personal, warm and dedicated to the success of all his students, we are proud to have Lou here on Saturdays.

Yuri Deych aka Yuri the Fury is an experienced percussionist specializing in Latin, Salsa, and modern jazz rock styles. Yuri teaches Timbales, Congas, Hand Percussion and Bongos. Yuri has a fantastic friendly approach to music and teaching students of all ages. Yuri has performed with many popular bands through out New England. Yuri is currently the percussionist with The Santana Tribute band Abraxas. Available on line only!

Jesse Colford is a musician originally from North Andover who holds a Bachelor of Music in Saxophone and Composition from Boston University. Jesse has performed in and around Boston with his former band Cathartic Conundrum, saxophone quartets, jazz combos, and the nonprofit choir Voices 21C. He enjoys making music across multiple genres, and currently teaches saxophone and beginner clarinet.

Michelle Boulay is a musician with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where she studied classical voice for five years. She is passionate about many genres of music, including pop/rock, broadway, classical, hip hop, rap, gospel, and country. She teaches introductory piano lessons and is a voice instructor for students of all levels. With her dynamic teaching style, she lets students have a say in what songs they want to learn, while also challenging them and teaching them proper vocal technique along with confidence in their stage presence.

Ann Assarsson is a singer and pianist originally from Goteborg, Sweden. With a Master of Music in Vocal Performance, her classical training supports a wide repertoire drawing from Classical, Jazz, Show tunes and Pop. Ann’s charismatic and personal approach to teaching keeps here in high demand with students of all ages.

As a guitarist of 15 plus years, John Fiore began teaching and sharing his love of the guitar with students of all ages and skill levels. From Blues, Rock, Funk, Surf, Punk, Metal, Reggae, Jazz, and country, to acoustic folk and pop styles, John possesses a very versatile teaching capability with a fun and passionate approach. John teaches Guitar, Bass, Ukulele and Drums.
